Nijmegen to Ende Gelaende info talk

11. Oktober 2018 um 20:30 De Klinker Nijmegen, Van Broeckhuysenstraat 46, 6511 PK in Nijmegen

It is clear to all that coal mining should come to an end in order to prevent further climate change! Nevertheless, the German government supports coal power stations and continues the expansion of the biggest lignite coal mine of Europe; the Garweiler mine near Cologne. To do so, the last remaining part of the 12.000 year old Hambacher Forst is now in danger of being destroyed. The activists who have been occupying the forest to protect it are being violently evicted. This needs to stop!

So what can you do? We will inform you in less than an hour about the possibilities for you to join. Together we can make a difference! We will explain practicalities about the action plans and we will share some of our own experiences of Ende Gelaende last year and possibly we will have a speaker who can tell us about the current situation on the ground.

Before the info talk there is food against donation by Guerilla Kitchen Nijmegen!

To protect the forest and to put an end to coal mining, there will be five days of civil disobedience. By disrupting the operations of the Rhineland coal mining areas, we show our concerns about the extraction and combustions of coal. The urgency of climate change asks for transitions, coal mining needs to stop now! For more information: /en/action/
